Last year we received a great number of generous donations at Christmas time and we appreciate this.
However we encountered one problem which we thought we would mention.
We received a lot of Christmas advent chocolate calendars and in all honesty struggled to find homes for them all.
We think this is because, although we do help families, many of the people who received emergency food parcels are adults, who are not the immediate recipients of such chocolate calanders.
With this in mind we would ask that our supporters would consider donating cereal or tinned corned beef or ham instead, both of which we are always short of.

The Lighthouse church is a venue to donate and give food to those who have a referral form. It is on Thursday mornings 10.30-12.00 (school term time only). You can have a free drink and cake while there.
The Lighthouse is situated between the (now closed) cycle shop and the deli, opposite the New World Nursery.
It is just around the corner from the row of shops, at the opposite end from the bus station and health centre.
